Communications Manager

We’re searching for an experienced Communications Manager to spearhead our internal and external communications. This key role will help develop, implement and oversee our communications strategy, to promote and protect our brand, engage and inspire our team, and deliver first-class service to our customers.   They’ll have previous experience of working with PR agencies, managing crisis and corporate communication, and will have collaborated with multiple departments to deliver a diverse range of internal content. Working primarily alongside the marketing team, and supporting the Head of Marketing, they’ll be a great storyteller, with a wide knowledge of brand, and a good understanding of customers.   Key Responsibilities:    Write, edit, and proof a wide range of internal and external communications and content, including press releases, features, newsletters, speeches, reports, awards applications, and customer response templates. Work closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership team to deliver and improve internal communications. Develop and execute communications strategies that align with company goals and values. Partner with wider management team to improve effectiveness of internal communications.  Maintain brand consistency across all platforms and materials with consistent tone of voice. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly. Work with Red Funnel’s PR agency to: Oversee Red Funnel’s corporate and crisis PR and communications Raise the brand profile through positive media coverage  Maintain relationships with local media outlets, journalists, and influencers  Proof and sign off press kits, statements, and responses to media enquiries  Monitor media coverage and report on PR performance metrics Offer guidance and support to leadership team and senior managers for external communications and media responses. Coordinate with the marketing team to align PR and communications with the marketing strategies and objectives.  Manage and develop internal channels and tools to engage staff and ensure efficient communications across the business. Write and distribute regular staff newsletters and updates.   Key Skills & Experience:  They’ll have previous experience of working with PR agencies, managing crisis and corporate communication, Collaborated with multiple departments to deliver a diverse range of internal content. A relevant qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.  A great storyteller, with a wide knowledge of brand, and a good understanding of customers. 5+ years of experience in communications, preferably in travel, transport or tourism. Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of media relations.
