We are currently looking for a permanent On Board Team Leader to join our Passenger Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your creativity and passion in leading a team to deliver First-Class Customer Service within a fast-paced and unique environment, attending to the needs of our passengers and primarily taking care of their safety.
Working under the instruction and guidance of the On-Board Services Officer, and as a crucial member of the ship’s crew, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth and profitable running of the Food & Beverage/ Passenger Services operation on board our ferries. This will include ensuring compliance with ship and food safety standards, controlling stock, overseeing food preparation, deliveries and merchandising, and effectively organising, motivating and developing your team.
You will need excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills, gained through significant experience within a front-line customer orientated environment at a supervisory level. A ‘hands on’, pro-active approach will be key to achieving the company’s goals and objectives, and the successful applicant will need to possess outstanding leadership skills to ensure the company’s values are personified within the team.
What are the working conditions?
* Contractual hours are 41 per week average, working a 4 days on 4 days off shift pattern.
* Shift duration is 9-12 hours, ranging between early, middle and late, including occasional night shifts.
* Primarily based afloat on any one of the company’s car ferries (Red Falcon, Red Osprey, Red Eagle).
* All shifts will predominantly start and finish in Southampton if you live mainland side, and East Cowes if you live on the Isle of Wight.
* Employee’s may occasionally be required to work in other areas of the business.
* A flexible approach to work and shift patterns is required.

* Applicants must be able to get to and from work for very early starts and late finishes.
* Applicants must be willing to obtain an ENG1 medical certificate from an approved practitioner, as this is a pre-employment requisite for the role.
